As a brand

The name ONMYODO is based on the Japanese word "陰陽 (on-myou)".
"On-myou" is the ancient Japanese iteration of the Chinese word "阴阳 (yin-yang)".
Yin and yang, often depicted as a circle divided into black and white, each with a dot of the opposite color, represent the idea that seemingly opposing forces complement and rely on each other.
ONMYODO only offers clothing items in either black or white, designed to work as the centerpiece of your wardrobe, each complementing not only our items but also any other colored items in your wardrobe.
The journey
Before ONMYODO, there was arustak, a test concept brand of the idea, back in 2022.

The prototype jacket in the picture was made and used for testing the click-through rate of the purchase button on the website, with traffic driven from Meta ads.

Despite having limited resources and experience, arustak was able to test and validate the product concept using the lean-startup methodology.
After a long and rigorous journey of battling self-doubt, procrastination, lack of connections, lack of time, gooning, and the perfectionist's dilemma, ONMYODO was finally launching in 2025.
The future
ONMYODO is currently a one-man business.
